LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — This week, the Arkansas Department of Human Services released a statement where they issued a warning of possible delays or disruptions to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP , benefits.
Come November, thousands of Arkansans could be impacted if the federal government shutdown continues.
The SNAP retail system could disallow purchases beginning November 1, even if someone has funds in their account, and the shutdown could also cause delays in processing applications or renewals.
To offer assistance to Arkansas families in need, we've put together a list of food banks and where to find free meals in the area.
