The Los Angeles Dodgers announced that pitcher Alex Vesia will be stepping away from the team ahead of the World Series due to personal reasons.
Posting via its official Instagram account on Thursday, October 23, the baseball team shared the news with sports fans.
“It’s with a heavy heart that we share that Alex Vesia is away from the team as he and his wife Kayla navigate a deeply personal family matter,” the post read. “The entire Dodgers organization is sending our thoughts to the Vesia family and we will provide an update at a later date.”
Alex has pitched for the team since 2021 and is considered one of their most valuable left-hander relievers.
