TAMA COUNTY, Iowa -- A multi-vehicle accident involving a dump truck and a utility van caused a temporary closure of Highway 30 in Tama County.
According to the Tama County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred around 2:35 p.m. at the intersection of C Avenue/T47 South and Highway 30. Authorities say a fully loaded dump truck pulling a pup trailer was turning onto Highway 30 heading west when it was rear-ended by a utility cargo van.
The TCSO says the utility van received significant damage, and the driver of the van was airlifted from the scene due to serious injuries sustained during the collision.
Authorities say that while crews were on the scene of the crash, a secondary crash occurred nearby due to traffic congestion and slowed vehicles. No injuries were reported in the secondar
