Mollymook's Jye Halls had to shake off some early nerves when he teed off at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship at Emirates Golf Club's Majlis Course.
Halls is one of seven Australians taking in the prestigious Dubai event, which started yesterday [Thursday, October 23]
Halls sits at even par and said he tried to have some fun.
"I would say it was a very up-and-down day, but I had a lot of fun out there. I was definitely a little bit nervous at the start, but yeah, it was good fun," he said.
He made a couple of nice birdies to end his front nine round, but added "dropped a couple towards the end".
"I had a good save on one. Had good chances on two and three but missed them both," Halls said about his round
He remains confident about what he will produce today [Friday, October 24]
