City, state and federal elected officials condemned the Department of Homeland Security raid around Canal Street Tuesday, including Democrats, Republicans and independents.

“Let me be clear, New York City does not want or need a military or federal occupation,” City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams said during a press conference at City Hall Thursday morning.

Adams was joined by faith leaders and other City Council members when she blasted the Trump administration’s immigration raid in Lower Manhattan.
