MANCHESTER, N.H. —
In court Thursday, prosecutors played a recording of Dustin Duren, the man accused of killing the mother of his children, confessing to the crime during a New Hampshire State Police interview.
Prosecutors said Duren shot Caitlyn Naffziger last year in Berlin after she refused to leave his apartment.
The defense said Duren believed he was protecting his daughter from what he thought was a hostage situation when he pulled the trigger and then drove off with his two children, setting off an Amber Alert.

In the video, Duren said Naffziger was holding their daughter and would not let go.
"It was very, very fast, very deliberate. I went and grabbed the gun, I'm someone who does not keep
