BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Longtime referee Ken Williamson has been suspended for the remainder of the 2025 football season by the Southeastern Conference, according to ESPN.
The suspension comes after Williamson and his crew were highly criticized for their performance in the Auburn - Georgia game Oct. 11 .
Late in the first half of the game, Auburn quarterback Jackson Arnold attempted a QB sneak on 3rd & goal from the 1-yard-line and appeared to score to put the Tigers up 17 - 0, but the ball was knocked out of his hands by the Bulldogs defense and was ruled a fumble at the goal line.
The officiating crew conducted a long replay review before upholding the call on the field, giving Georgia the ball.
The Bulldogs kicked a field-goal to end the half to make it a 10 - 3 game.
