BEAUMONT, Texas — A Southeast Texas organization dedicated to providing young girls with a stable home and education is preparing to move into a new $1.7 million facility designed to create a more comfortable, homelike environment.
Girls’ Haven’s new building will meet updated state codes and provide an improved therapeutic space for its residents. Director of Development Kaylee Henry said the new facility represents a major step forward for the organization.
“This first bedroom is our ADA-compliant bedroom, so it’s a little bit bigger,” Henry said. “It’s going to be more of a home-life environment than what we have now, so they’ll be able to cook with the staff.”
