GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WITN) - NC Republican lawmakers passed a new congressional voting map into law this week that could make it harder for First District Rep. Don Davis to hold onto his seat.
“Since the top of the year, we’ve had 46,616 messages that’s come from constituents into our office,” Davis told WITN in an interview. “But overwhelming opposition to new maps, all those voices ignored.”
Davis pushed back on the decision to approve a new congressional map that turns his seat into one that can be more GOP leaning.
He says the new map comes at a time when farmers, families and Eastern North Carolinians are focused on trying to survive.
