NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — After several dry, comfortable days, the humidity is about to make a comeback as we head into the weekend. Southeasterly winds on Friday will start pulling moisture in from the Gulf, but it’ll take a while to notice the change. Most of Friday will still feel dry, with sunshine dominating and only a few clouds showing up late Friday night, mainly west of I-55.
Looking ahead to the weekend, we’ll be tracking a system moving out of Texas that brings increasing rain chances Saturday afternoon into Sunday. Expect widespread rainfall, with 1 to 3 inches possible across much of the area and locally heavier totals west of I-55. Severe weather looks unlikely right now, but a few strong storms can’t be ruled out.
