LA VISTA, Neb. —

Another major street construction project is coming to the metro. The city of La Vista’s 84 th Street Corridor is ramping up for the next redevelopment phase.

The total project costs $12.2 million, with a federal grant covering $5 million, while the city takes care of the rest: $7.2 million.

This phase of the project is the second biggest construction aspect of the project, aside from the Centre City building. The city says it's the next step for a brighter future.

“It's going to be messy. It's going to be inconvenient,” city of La Vista’s Mitch Beaumont said.

He said the 84 th Street Trail Project has been 20 years in the making, with the next step being the underpass bridge.

“The bridge, the underpass will follow the creek channel,” Beaumont said.
