INDIANAPOLIS — Alycia Corpiel lives in Turtle Creek Apartments in Indianapolis with her husband, who acts as her caregiver. She lives with a chronic illness that leaves her with widespread pain and inflammation of the brain and spinal cord, along with debilitating fatigue.

Corpiel said they have been living in a temporary apartment unit for a year until their accessible apartment unit is finally ready. On Wednesday, she said she received a letter telling them their entire hallway is being vacated due to construction.

She said she wrote to the office, asking for reasonable accommodations.

Corpiel tells 13News that apartment management told them they can move out of their two-bedroom unit and into a one-bedroom by Oct. 28.
