At just 25-years-old, Como local Max Romaine is already making his mark at Royal Perth Hospital, not just as one of the youngest dietitians on the team, but as one of only two male dietitians.

Male dietitians are rare in hospitals, but Max has never been afraid to take a different path.

Originally studying finance at Murdoch University, he realised number crunching and balance sheets weren’t where his heart truly lay.

Mr Romaine said he realised that people studying finance weren’t like him and that he wanted different things from life.

“My heart was in helping the vulnerable and those in need.” he said.

After taking a year off to work as a manual labourer, Max finally found his direction and passion.
