All Sweet Potato ever wanted was love and care, and a person to call her own. Instead, she was left behind in a Florida park, forced to endure hunger and exhaustion on her own.
By the time help arrived, her tiny body was failing.
Animal control officers eventually managed to catch her, but her condition was so poor that she was labeled “untreatable.” Sweet Potato was added to the euthanasia list, and it looked as if her short life would soon be over.
Battling A Failing Body
Sweet Potato was taken to Broward County Animal Services in Florida, where staff immediately saw how serious her condition was. She was severely underweight, dehydrated, and weak . Her ribs visible through her thin skin.
Her gentle personality hinted that she had once known a home, which made her abandonment even
