Odisha’s Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj confirmed that the state will appoint permanent lecturers across government-aided colleges.
The recruitment process is already underway, and eligible candidates must submit their applications through the HIMS portal by October 31.
To maintain academic continuity, the government has deployed retired lecturers to teach in 488 and 662-category aided colleges. This temporary measure ensures that students receive uninterrupted instruction while permanent positions are being filled.
By launching this initiative, the state aims to strengthen its higher education infrastructure and address long-standing faculty shortages. The move will not only improve teaching standards but also benefit thousands of students across Odisha.
