The man Sussan Ley tasked with reviewing Australia's environment laws says he is "bitterly disappointed" the opposition leader is pushing back on Labor's reworked reforms.
Former Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) chair Graeme Samuel handed his review of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act to the then-Morrison government in 2020.
But five years on, Professor Samuel said he is getting "frustrated and … frankly a little angry" by the opposition and the Greens' position so far on the reforms expected to be introduced to parliament as early as next week by Environment Minister Murray Watt.
"I don't understand why now all of a sudden the report is being rejected," he told ABC's Afternoon Briefing.
