Defenceman Mike Matheson continues to lead the Canadiens in ice time this year after ranking eighth in the NHL last season, with an average of 25:05 per game.
This comes after Montreal acquired defenceman Noah Dobson from the New York Islanders during the summer.
On this Hockey Inside/Out bonus episode, The Gazette’s Stu Cowan is joined by former Canadiens defenceman, assistant coach and 1986 Stanley Cup champion Rick Green and Gazette columnist Jack Todd to discuss Matheson’s ice time and whether GM Kent Hughes should re-sign the 31-year-old defenceman, who can become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
We’ll have one more bonus episode coming up, followed by our weekly Hockey Inside/Out Show next Wednesday. If you like the HI/O Show and bonus episodes, please subscribe to our You
