NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - The North and Lloyd Street intersection in Nacogdoches has undergone many changes over the past few months.

In June, TxDOT held a public forum to discuss what to do with one of the busiest intersections in town— North and Lloyd Street.

Before, they were looking to take down the street light. But Tim Monzingo, the public information officer for the TxDOT Lufkin district, said that after talking to the community, SFA, and city officials, they’re back to the drawing board.

“We made the decision to leave the light in place, and we will be conducting here in the coming months a traffic study along the entire Business 59 corridor in Nacogdoches to figure out how we can better alleviate congestion issues, what that might mean for the future of the Lloyd Street light
