A 25-year-old bicyclist died this week after he was hit by a truck in Westland, police said.
At about 5:57 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a crash with reported injuries between a box truck and a male Westland resident on a bike near the intersection of Wayne Road and Warren Road, the city police department said in a statement.
The preliminary investigation revealed the box truck was turning from southbound Wayne to eastbound Warren and struck the bicyclist in the crosswalk, according to the release.
Westland police did not name the bicyclist in their statement. WXYZ-TV (Channel 7) identified the bicyclist as Kyle Reames.
