Every Friday morning of the high school football season, we’ll look back at a memory for that date in local football history.

Southview answered the bell each week of the 2008 regular season like a confident champion. The Cougars wrapped up a 10-0 run with a 42-12 victory over Maumee at Cats Stadium, securing a second straight outright Northern Lakes League championship.

It was the second perfect regular season in program history. Quarterback Alex Pidcock, pictured, rushed for 190 yards on 18 carries, including touchdown runs of 18, 12, and 44 yards.

"I'm really proud of our kids. They came out and played really hard," said Southview coach Jim Mayzes, just before running away from a player attempting to sneak up and pour a jug of water over him.
