Clemens, Rojas enjoy senior year

For completely different reasons, 2024 was a lost football season for Jahvon Clemens and David Rojas.

But forces in their lives led both receivers back to their home school and teammates they played with for years. Both they and their teams have thrived in 2025.

Rojas went back to Peoria in early 2024 after spending about three weeks at Cactus, Clemens came back to Cactus this summer after three semesters at Liberty. Both said they now feel at ease and at home.

“A lot of my family members graduated from Peoria,” Rojas said. “So when I came back, it wasn’t like I was gone. I was absent for a little bit, but I came back and nothing changed. I was still friends with everyone and grew up with these kids. I felt like I needed to stay and graduate with my fri
