PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - A Pulaski County man was arrested on Oct. 22 after a traffic stop.
It started when Detectives from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division were surveying in the Parkers Mill area.
They were investigating Sharmarke Ali, 20, of Somerset.
Ali was traveling northbound on Highway 27 with expired registration plates.
A deputy conducted a traffic stop on Santee Way, where he noticed the vehicle Ali drove smelled like marijuana.
While the deputy was rendering the firearm found on Ali safe, he ran away.
While fleeing, Ali dropped two bags and was tased by the deputy.
Deputies recovered the dropped bags and identified two bags containing cocaine.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a baggie of marijuana and $14,841.00 in cash.
