Real Madrid and Barcelona are set to go head to head for the first time La Liga this weekend in a mouthwatering clash of the fierce rivals.

Only two points separate the clubs with leaders Real Madrid on 24 points and their Catalan rivals two points behind after nine games of the season.

Last weekend Barcelona needed a 93rd minute winner from Ronald Araujo to avoid dropped points at home to Girona.

Barca boss Hansi Flick was red-carded during the dramatic match and will serve a touchline ban this weekend in the Spanish capital.

Real Madrid also left it relatively late with an 80th minute strike from Kylian Mbappe needed to secure all three points in a 1-0 win away at Getafe, after Allan Nyom had been red carded for a cynical foul on Vinicius Junior.
