STERLING, Va. — Firefighters worked to put out a townhouse fire in Sterling early Friday morning, causing utility disruptions in the area.
As of 12:46 p.m., the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is still working to account for all the residents and is still investigating. Currently, one person remains unaccounted for, and eight people were displaced. One firefighter was transported with only a minor injury.
At 1:06 a.m., Loudoun County, Cascades, Sterling Park, Kincora, Ashburn, Lansdowne, Philomont, Moorefield, and Brambleton, as well as Fairfax County, responded to the 20000 block of Riptide Square, where two townhouses were reported on fire. That is not far from Lowes Island Elementary School.
