With two games to go, The Colony football team’s playoff chances are alive and well. Through eight games, the Cougars are 4-4 and 3-3 in District 3-5A Division II play. That currently slots them in a tie for fifth place, but while some landscapes are solid and settled, 3-5A Division II’s situation is yet unstable.
That is a good thing for The Colony as district play began with a disheartening 73-7 loss to Colleyville Heritage. They bounced back with a 55-28 win over Everman before getting doubled up by Seguin and then Mansfield Summit in back-to-back weeks.
