Experienced Kilwinning councillor Donald Reid has accused his political rivals of “overstepping” the mark by calling for him to be removed from three committees after completing a two-month suspension last month.
And he voiced “regret” at how his actions had led to the punishment from the Standards Commission for Scotland, which came as a result of a Teams call with the Kilwinning Heritage Committee.
But he says he is now determined to represent the community as strongly as he can during the final 19 months of the council term.
Cllr Reid was first elected in 2002 following the Irvine West by-election. A year later he stood for Kilwinning West at the full council elections and was duly elected. Reid served one term but was returned to NAC in 2012 where he has been ever since.
