LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Disability Rights Arkansas (DRA), a statewide non-profit that provides legal advocacy and support to disabled individuals, has been forced to furlough its staff and stop accepting new cases due to the ongoing government shutdown.
According to Tom M. Masseau, DRA Executive Director, the organization has been operating on limited carryover funds from fiscal year 2025, and they are now nearly exhausted.
Beginning October 21, DRA will temporarily stop taking any new cases, and staff will be furloughed on November 1.
