New Delhi: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) has emerged victorious in the Rajya Sabha elections, securing three of the four seats from the Union Territory. The wins mark a major political boost for the Farooq Abdullah-led party, consolidating its dominance in the Legislative Assembly.

Ramzan secures first victory

Senior leader and former minister Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan became the first declared winner, bagging 58 votes under Notification No. 1. Backed by the NC-led alliance, Ramzan defeated BJP’s Ali Mohammad Mir with a comfortable margin. His win reflected the party’s strong numerical position and coordination among allies during the voting by 88 MLAs earlier in the day.
