When Gary Trembinski hit a bumpy road, he motored on.

The Sault Ste. Marie businessman, former city councillor, long-time car enthusiast and Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board trustee, died Oct. 8. He was 68.

Trebimski’s son, Gary Trembinski, Jr., called his father “a positive man” who “looked on the brighter side of life.

“ When something went wrong, it was how do we fix this?” he told The Sault Star. “It wasn’t doom and gloom, mope and wait for the best. It was how do you fix the problem, not woe is me.”

Trembinski worked in real estate and industrial sales, with stops at William R. Gray Limited, Lake Superior Realty Inc., Cochrane-Dunlop Industrial Products which later became Weber Industrial Supply Company Inc. and Acklands Limited before buying Metallo’s Mini Mart on N
