Indian engineering and digital services giant Tata Technologies is making a major shift in its US hiring strategy, following the Donald Trump administration's crackdown on H1B visas . The global engineering services company said it would now focus on hiring more American workers in the US, reducing its dependence on foreign talent.
Tata Technologies CEO Warren Harris told news agency Reuters, "As we react and respond to the change in legislation in and around visas, it will mean that we will be recruiting more local nationals in the United States."
The move by Tata Technologies comes even as the largest private employer in the US, Walmart, pausing job offers for candidates requiring H-1B visas, citing the new $100,000 application fee imposed by the Trump administration.
