MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — The Triangle will soon have another direct connection to a popular Southern California city known for sun, sand and surf.
On Friday, Alaska Airlines announced it will begin a new nonstop route between Raleigh-Durham International Airport and San Diego International Airport. Service is set to begin on April 22 and will run daily on a Boeing 737 aircraft.
"We are pleased to expand convenient access to the San Diego market for business and leisure travelers in the Research Triangle region,” said Michael Landguth, president and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. “The new daily service on Alaska Airlines will provide even greater connectivity from RDU to the West Coast.”
