Edmontonians in most wards can expect to see familiar faces representing them on city council, based on the unofficial municipal election results reported as of Tuesday night.
Eight councillors seeking re-election — Karen Principe, Erin Rutherford, Aaron Paquette, Keren Tang, Ashley Salvador, Anne Stevenson, Jo-Anne Wright and Michael Janz — won, or were on track to win, their seats on council, preliminary results suggest.
As of 10:30 p.m. MT Tuesday, Ward Ipiihkoohkanipiaohtsi Coun. Jennifer Rice was the only incumbent behind in their race. She trailed Jon Morgan by 571 votes — about 3.5 percentage points — with 90.5 per cent of polls reporting.
“If you’re an unknown entity or an unknown name, it’s kind of up in the air,” Paquette, of Ward Dene, told CBC News. WATCH | Familiar faces
