How did anyone get tickets? Well, like many people across the GTA, my father cut out a coupon in the Toronto Star, filled out his information and wrote a cheque for the face value of a pair of tickets in the 500 level: $60.
He popped it in the mail, and we all crossed our fingers and waited for the draw.
A week later, self-addressed envelopes were sent out to tens of thousands of people containing one of two things: either a pair of World Series tickets, or your cheque.
