EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Authorities in Evansville responded to reports of gunfire late Thursday night.
Police received multiple calls reporting between five and 12 shots fired, with one caller describing the sound as similar to a machine gun. Officers were dispatched to the area near Vann Avenue and Monroe Avenue around 11:30 p.m.
Residents indicated the gunfire seemed to originate near the Neighborhood Walmart and the Savannah Drive area. Initially, officers could not find any evidence, but later discovered multiple shell casings at the northeast corner of Savannah Drive and Covert Avenue.
