BELTON, Texas (KXXV) — More people are turning to the Helping Hands Ministry of Belton for help putting food on the table.

The ministry says this week alone, 724 families came to its pantry. Of those, 53 families received food from the pantry for the first time.

The ministry says the need will likely increase if WIC and SNAP benefits are paused because of the federal government shutdown.

Here is when the pantry is open:

Monday, Noon – 6 p.m.

Wednesday, 10 – 4 p.m.

Thursday 10 – 4 p.m.
