Newcastle United’s signing Yoane Wissa has yet to play a single minute since his transfer deadline day move from Brentford with the striker’s long-awaited debut now set to be delayed further.

The 29-year-old forward picked up a knee injury while on international duty with DR Congo just days after his switch to Tyneside.

The injury became a blemish on what had been a promising start for the Congolese player with him already scoring multiple times for his national team.

Wissa was expected to return earlier this month but he suffered a setback during recovery which has pushed his comeback to November.
