Vancouver police say a 17-year-old has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault for allegedly stabbing four people in the city's Downtown Eastside.
Police say investigators believe one of the victims was targeted, while the other three were bystanders in the stabbings Wednesday evening.
They say all four victims — three men and a woman, ranging in age from 33 to 60 — were taken to hospital for treatment of their wounds.
The stabbings occurred, police say, outside a building near the intersection of East Hastings Street and Jackson Avenue.
Police say the suspect was arrested at a different location in the same neighbourhood within hours of the alleged assaults.
They say he remains in custody after being charged Thursday with four counts of aggravated assault.
