In the first Rajya Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, Omar Abdullah's National Conference secured three of the four Rajya Sabha seats from Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, while the opposition BJP claimed one.

The ruling National Conference announced that its candidate Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan won the first Rajya Sabha seat, followed by Sajad Kichloo securing the second seat and then its treasurer, G S (Shammi) Oberoi was elected to the third seat.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) clinched the fourth seat, with senior leader Sat Sharma defeating National Conference’s Imran Nabi Dar by securing 32 out of 54 votes.
