Iam running for School Board because I see an imbalance in how Duluth School District resources are allocated. Too much funding is directed toward administrative costs, while too little reaches our classrooms to support teachers and students directly. My concern is that inadequate funding for teachers and instruction can lead to split-grade classrooms in elementary schools, where one teacher is responsible for teaching two different grade levels.
Increases in per-pupil funding have not translated into stronger academic results. Proficiency scores in reading and math remain too low, and achievement gaps continue to widen.
