DEWITT, Iowa – The Power of Produce Club gave children ages 4–12 a free $2 token each week to spend on fruits, vegetables, plants or farm-fresh eggs all summer long. By season’s end, 213 children had joined the club in Clinton County, together taking home hundreds of cucumbers, berries, melons, sweet corn and tomatoes.
Every Thursday night at the Lincoln Park farmers market, the PoP Club booth buzzed with families learning about fresh fruits and vegetables via fun activities and meeting the farmers who grew their food.
