Halloween is almost here. In the week leading up to Oct. 31, local schools, businesses and churches are opening their parking lots and buildings for trunk-or-treat events.
Here’s a guide to where families can get candy.
All events are open to the public and free unless otherwise noted.
Friday, Oct. 24
Chemeketa Community College , 4000 Lancaster Dr. N.E., Building 2, 5 p.m. Includes candy and face painting. The college is also collecting coats for a coat drive for farmworkers and others in need.
Saturday, Oct. 25
Downtown trick-or-treat : From 12-5 p.m., trick or treat at participating downtown Salem businesses and stores inside Salem Center, 401 Center St. N.E.
Halloween Dress Rehearsal with Salem Police Department , 333 Division St. N.E., 3-5 p.m. Come in costume for safety tip
