'One of the most harrowing murders' - police statements after suitcase killer jailed

The Met Police has issued a lengthy statement describing the complex investigation in " one of the most harrowing murders " which the police have had to deal with following a murderer's sentencing to life in prison .

Yostin Andres Mosquera killed civil partners Albert Alfonso, 62, and Paul Longworth, 71, inside their flat in Scotts Road, Shepherd's Bush, west London, on July 8, 2024, before dumping their remains in suitcases near the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Mosquera, 35, had murdered Mr Alfonso and Mr Longworth in the "most brutal and callous of ways" said the Detective Chief Inspector who led the investigation.
