BELVIDERE, Ill. (WTVO) — A teen has been arrested and charged with making a bomb threat to Belvidere High School.
The Belvidere Police Department announced the arrest of a juvenile suspect after a bomb threat was received at the school around 11 a.m. on Thursday.
According to police, staff at the school were notified of the threat and immediately contacted the school's resource officer.
Administration was able to develop a suspect, and police were able to determine there were no explosives in or around the property.
The unnamed juvenile has been charged with disorderly conduct - threat of bomb or explosive, and disorderly conduct - threat of violence at a school.
Each is a criminal felony charge.
