After a quarter-century of performing, Sarnia’s Bluewater Big Band is doing something completely different with its upcoming concerts of James Bond movie themes Nov. 1 and 2 at the Imperial Theatre.

The band, led by Tim Hummel, has been playing fundraisers for the downtown theatre for years, but hadn’t tackled a full program of Bond themes until now.

“Mostly because the music is not readily available or even written for big bands, so it’s kind of out of our frame,” Hummel said. “We had to do a lot of searching.”

The idea came up when a singer selected a Bond theme song for last year’s concert and Imperial manager Brian Austin Jr., suggested a full Bond program for the next one.
