HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A WIND ADVISORY is now in effect through Friday afternoon for portions of Maui County and the Big Island.
A RED FLAG WARNING remains in effect for central and leeward portions of all islands, and northern portions of the Big Island, through Saturday.
A pocket of dry air will filter into the region on Friday, which will coincide with stronger trade winds.
This weekend into early next week, trades will weaken and rain chances will increase.
There is potential for a wetter pattern to persist through the long range forecast.
The current N/NW swell is dropping, another near advisory level swell is due in later today, another pulse is due Monday.
East shores will be rough and choppy near advisory levels, while south shores will remain below average.
