UPDATE: Former Tennessee State Representative Robin Smith has been sentenced to prison on Friday after pleading guilty to a federal fraud charge.

Smith was sentenced to eight months in federal prison.

She was given 73 days to report to prison.

Smith pleaded guilty to one count of honest services fraud as part of a plea deal in March of 2022, following a federal investigation of a mail scheme that was launched in January of 2021, which also involved former House Speaker Glen Casada and his chief of staff Cade Cothren.

Smith served as the state house representative for District 26 before resigning from her seat.
