MESQUITE, Texas — A man wanted by Shreveport police on felony sex crimes warrants was arrested in Mesquite, Texas, authorities confirmed Friday.

Kayden Mitte, 19, was taken into custody on warrants stemming from an investigation opened in July by the Shreveport Police Department’s sex crimes unit.

The investigation began back in July, after detectives responded to Ochsner LSU Health regarding a report of a sexual assault involving a 14-year-old female. Based on the information gathered, police secured an arrest warrant for Mitte on Sept. 2.

Mitte faces two charges: felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

He is currently being held in Mesquite, Texas, pending extradition back to Caddo Parish to face the charges.
