BRAINERD — A 54-year-old Brainerd man suffering a mental health crisis was arrested Friday, Oct. 24, for multiple charges including destruction of property at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd.

Brainerd Police Chief John Davis said officers responded to a report of a man having a mental health crisis at 8:49 p.m. Thursday on the 1000 block of Cora Street. The man was then transported to Essentia Health for a medical evaluation.

At 1:31 a.m. Friday officers responded to Essentia Health for a report of a disturbance. The 54-year-old Brainerd man was taken into custody and transported to Crow Wing County Jail on probable cause for assaulting a physician or nurse, obstruction, damage to property and disorderly conduct.
