The 5A Southern - Desert League championship will be decided Friday night when the Bishop Gorman Gaels (8-1, 4-0) visit the Shadow Ridge Mustangs (8-1, 4-0) in a highly-anticipated regular-season finale.
The defending state champion Gaels enter on a dominant four-game winning streak, having posted four consecutive shutouts including last week’s 44-0 dismantling of Somerset Academy Losee. Bishop Gorman’s suffocating defense has now recorded six shutouts this season, while their offense continues to thrive behind sophomore quarterback Maika Eugenio, who tossed three touchdown passes to different receivers in last week’s victory.
