ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - The Roanoke Police Department is in search of a man in connection to the theft of a 3-month-old bluenose Pitbull puppy named Carla.

Around 8:30 p.m. October 22, 2025, officers responded to an Exxon gas station near the 3300 block of Garden City Blvd. SE for the report of a stolen puppy.

The puppy’s owner described the dog as a bluenose Pitbull puppy named Carla.

Witnesses reported a 25-30-year-old Black man with a beard took the puppy out of the victim’s car; he was reportedly last seen wearing a yellow shirt or hoodie, according to RPD.

Witnesses also said the man was driving a boxy black SUV and left heading toward Riverland Rd. SE.
